Drilling and Construction Blasting
During our quarry rehabilitation process we have uncovered some small pockets of rock outcrops which are incumbering of our rehabilitation and naturalization plans. As a result, it is necessary for us to remove these rock pockets through drilling and blasting.
This letter is a friendly notice to our neighbours that we will be conducting a series of controlled blasts in 2024 with the first controlled blast scheduled for Monday March 18th at 8 am at a distance of well over 1 km from the closest residential property. A typical blast will last about 10 to 30 seconds which appears as a vibration and rumbling sound. We estimate about 3 to 4 blasts through 2024 starting this week over a kilometer from the closest
residence.
